Patricia Burford Ryan is an artist and novelist who lives in Austin, Texas. Pat is an alumna of the San Francisco Art Institute, from which she graduated with honors. "My goal as an artist is to depict the natural and man-made world in a constant state of transition: light dissolving into shadow, the earth shifting and resculpting itself beneath the ever-changing sky, abandoned buildings crumbling into oddly beautiful disrepair.
"Constancy, rigidity, and the treacherous myth of perfection are boring and a little sad. We are changeable creatures inhabiting a changeable world, and that is what I aim to celebrate with my paintings."
